I've been playing jazz tabs gleaned from YouTube for about a year. Diggin' it the most, but have no skills beyond single note tablature reading. I play every day and it's giving me enormous satisfaction and fun. The tunes sound fine when I pick (to me), but i recorded myself and it sounds stilted and lacks rhythm in reality.
