    What to Expect

    What is a Public Guitar Lesson?

    A real one-on-one guitar lesson that is streamed live so others can watch and learn.

    ‣
    Is this really free?

    Yes. These are free lessons that are shared publicly.

    ‣
    Will I be on camera?

    Yes. These lessons are public and will be streamed and possibly uploaded.

    ‣
    Do I have to show my face?

    Yes. These are live, interactive lessons.

    ‣
    What can I ask for help with?

    Anything regarding (1) technique, (2) music theory, (3) songs, (4) practice routines.

    ‣
    How long is the lesson?
    • 30 minutes minimum
    • 60 minutes maximum
      • It only goes longer than 30 minutes if both parties have the free time to go longer.
    ‣
    How do I join a lesson?
    • Use the booking link and select a time that works for you.
    • You’ll receive and email and calendar invite with a Google Meet link.
    • Join the Google Meet meeting 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time.

    What should I prepare?

    Come with a clear goal or question so we can make the most of the time.

    Where can I watch the lesson afterwards?

    All lessons are streamed live on YouTube.

    Before Your Lesson (Setup Guide)

    Make sure your audio is clear
    • Turn OFF Voice Isolation (iPhone users)
    • Use Standard or Wide Spectrum if available
    • Make sure your guitar can be heard clearly
    ‣
    Make sure your camera is positioned correctly
    • I need to see your face and your hands
    • Angle your camera so both are visible
    ‣
    Make sure your guitar is audible
    • Acoustic: play close enough to the mic
    • Electric: use an amp or audio interface
    • Avoid super quiet sounds or super distorted audio

    Use a stable setup
    • Prop your phone or use a stand
    • Avoid holding your phone during the lesson

    Minimize background noise
    • Quiet room if possible
    • Limit distractions

    Come prepared
    • Have a clear goal or question
    • Know what you want help with
